Sourdough, Culturing, Fermenting, and Preserving
I started learning the art of sourdough, fermenting, and preserving back in our tiny 500 square foot apartment in the city; My kitchen experiments have only expanded since we moved to the country nearly 10 years ago.
We drink homemade kefir almost every day in the form of kefir smoothies, and one of my favorite recipes to make again and again is homemade sauerkraut in a fermenting crock (although you could use a half-gallon mason jar instead).
I also love to preserve food from our garden and farmers' markets by canning, fermenting, or dehydrating for Winter storage. I also hope to get into freeze-drying in the future!

Natural Remedies
Over the past 5 years, I have developed an interest in herbs and making my own tinctures, salves, and skincare from herbs.
I've shared a few of my favorite natural remedies, and plan on sharing many more in the years to come, so be sure to check back often!
A Passion for Teaching and Sharing
More than anything, I have always had a desire to teach others what I have learned, which is what spurred me to start this website 6 years ago.
I strive to bring you detailed, informed tutorials that are simple enough to understand, but detailed enough to hold your hand along the way.
To help those who learn visually, I've recently started sharing short videos on my YouTube channel. I also aim to share concise, informative content on my Instagram and Facebook when possible, so be sure to follow me along there!
If you like what you see and want to learn more, be sure to subscribe to my e-mail newsletter, where I share favorite recipes and occasional life updates.
Until next time,
Take care of yourself and others,
Dorothy
